Steps to make California Roll Sushi Recipe:
1) Fill a large bowl with water and add the rice to it.
2) Wash the rice thoroughly in the water. Drain thoroughly and add the same amount of water to the bowl again.
3) Repeat Step 2 until the drained water isnt cloudy. Transfer the rice to a rice cooker.
4) Fill the cooker with a cup of water and bring to a boil over moderate high flame.
5) Turn the flame down to moderate and leave the rice to cook for around 15 minutes time.
6) Turn off the flame and leave the rice and water aside for some time.
7) Take a bowl and mix together sugar and rice vinegar.
8) Add the sugar mixture to the boiled rice and toss thoroughly until well mixed.
9) In a new bowl, mix together mayonnaise and crab meat. Leave aside.
10) Now lets head over to the tough part. In order to roll the sushi, layer plastic wrap over a bamboo rolling mat.
11) Set up the shiny side a nori sheet on the plastic wrap and top with a layer or rice.
12) Top the rice layer with a layer of sesame seeds. Now flip the Nori sheet so that the rice side is down.
13) Top with cucumber spears and avocado slices and a tablespoon of the mayo crab mixture.
14) Now using the edge of the bamboo rolling sheet, fold up and enclose the roll tightly.
15) You should now have a cylindrical shape. Slice it up using a very sharp knife and serve!
