Indian Style Vegetable Rice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Corn Oil
    3 Tablespoons
  • Onion
    1
    Chopped
  • Garlic
    1 Cloves
    Chopped
  • Red Bell Pepper
    1/2 Cups
    Chopped
  • Whole Cloves
    3
  • Long Grain Rice
    1 Cups
  • Water
    4 Cups
  • Salt and Pepper
    To Taste
  • Cayenne Pepper
    To Taste
  • Broccoli
    1 Cups
    Chopped
  • Corn Kernels
    1/2 Cups
  • Green Beans
    1/2 Cups
  • Carrot
    1/2
    Chopped
  • Water
    1/4 Cups
  • Turmeric Powder
    1/2 Teaspoons
  • Cashews
    1/4 Cups
    Roasted
  • Cilantro
    1/4 Cups
    Chopped

Preparation mode:

Steps to make Indian Style Vegetable Rice Recipe:
1) Heat corn oil in a non stick skillet over moderate high flame.
2) Add red bell pepper, garlic, onion and whole cloves to the skillet. Stir fry until the onion is soft and slightly brown.
3) Add the rice and toss over flame for a minute.
4) Stir in 4 cups of water, followed by salt and cayenne pepper. Mix and boil the mixture.
5) Turn the flame down to moderate low and leave the rice to cook for 20 minutes time.
6) Take a microwave proof bowl and mix carrots, green beans, corn, broccoli and 1/4 cup water in it.
7) Cover the bowl and cook on high setting in the microwave for about 4 minutes.
8) Once the rice is cooked, add the microwaved vegetables to the skillet.
9) Add black pepper, cilantro, cashews and turmerice. Mix thoroughly and heat through before serving!

Me and my lovely wife are massive fans of Indian food, especially Indian curry and rice dishes. This Indian Style Vegetable Rice Recipe is one of our favorite Indian dishes. Super refreshing and flavorful rice meal, also simple to make and can be cooked in under an hour's time. So flavorful and yumm! I love it!
