Garithes Yiouvetsi Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Olive Oil
    4 Tablespoons
  • Onion
    1
    Chopped
  • Green Onion
    3/4 Cups
    Chopped
  • Garlic
    2 Cloves
    Chopped
  • Tomatoes
    2 Cups
    Peeled and Chopped
  • Dry White Wine
    1/2 Cups
  • Parsley
    1/4 Cups
    Chopped
  • Oregano
    1 Tablespoons
  • Feta Cheese
    4 Ounces
    Crumbled
  • Salt and Pepper
    To Taste
  • Large Fresh Shrimp
    2 Pounds
    Peeled

Preparation mode:

1) Prepare the baking oven and flame it up to the 255 degree Celsius mark.
2) Heat up oil in a skillet over moderate flame. Fry the onion for a couple minutes.
3) Throw in the garlic and green onions. Stir fry for a couple of minutes.
4) Pour in wine, tomatoes and add oregano, parsley, salt and ground black pepper.
5) Cover the skillet and leave to cook for half an hour.
6) Layer up half of the prepared sauce on a baking dish. Top with the shrimp and then top the shrimp with the remaining half of the sauce.
7) Top with Feta cheese and bake for 15 minutes time in the preheated oven. Garnish with parsley and serve hot!

Garithes Yiouvetsi Recipe is an amazing classic Greek shrimp meal that features a deliciously flavorful tomato sauce and feta cheese combo. Very easy, quick and simple to make. Makes for an outstanding meal if served over rice pilaf or a crispy bead of choice. This can also be served over linguine pasta!
