German Short Ribs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • All Purpose Flour
    2 Tablespoons
  • Salt and Pepper
    To Taste
  • Beef Short Ribs
    3 Pounds
  • Olive Oil
    2 Tablespoons
  • Onion
    1
    Sliced
  • Red Wine
    1/2 Cups
  • Chile Sauce
    1/2 Cups
  • Brown Sugar
    3 Tablespoons
  • Vinegar
    3 Tablespoons
  • Worcestershire Sauce
    1 Tablespoons
  • Dry Mustard
    1/2 Teaspoons
  • Chili Powder
    1/2 Teaspoons
  • Water
    1/4 Cups

Preparation mode:

1) Take a bowl and mix together a couple table spoons of flour, salt and ground black pepper to tatse.
2) Season the beef short ribs with the prepared flour mixture.
3) Heat up oil in a skillet over high flame and fry the seasoned brown short ribs. Give a maximum of 5 minutes to each side.
4) Take a bowl and mix together chili sauce, wine, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder and onions.
5) Mix all bowl ingredients thoroughly and transfer the whole mixture to a slow cooker.
6) Add the fried short ribs into the slow cooker and coat with the sauce.
7) Set the cooker on low and cook the ribs for 7 hours time.
8) Once done, set the ribs on serving platters.
9) Increase the slow cooker setting to high. Add some flour water mixture to the sauce to make it more thick.
10) Cook for 10 more minutes. Top the sauce over the ribs and serve!

This German Short Ribs Recipe is the slow cooker version of the original German classic. Is much simpler and equally if not more tasty. The slow cooking time would turn out totally worth it in the end. The meal looks absolutely stunning when presented on the table, which makes for a perfect meal to prepare when you've got guests coming over.
