Simple Cajun Jambalaya Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Olive Oil
    2 Teaspoons
  • Boneless Chicken
    Of 2 Chicken Breasts
    Bite Sized Pieces
  • Kielbasa
    8 Ounces
    Diced
  • Onion
    1
    Diced
  • Green Bell pepper
    1
    Diced
  • Celery
    1/2 Cups
    Diced
  • Garlic
    2 Tablespoons
    Chopped
  • Cayenne Pepper
    1/4 Teaspoons
  • Hot Pepper Sauce
    1 Teaspoons
  • Worcestershire Sauce
    2 Teaspoons
  • Bay Leaves
    3
  • Chicken Stock
    4 Cups
  • White Rice
    2 Cups
    Uncooked
  • Salt and Pepper
    To Taste
  • Onion Powder
    1/2 Teaspoons

Preparation mode:

1) Heat up oil in a skillet over moderate high flame.
2) Throw in the kielbasa and chicken. Stir fry until just evenly brown. This should take abot 3-5 minutes.
3) Add bell pepper, onion, celery and garlic. Stir fry for a minute.
4) Sprinkle onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt and ground black pepper. Mix and fry until the onions turn soft.
5) Add in the rice and pour in chicken stock with bay leaves.
6) Stir thoroughly and bring the mixture to a boil. Turn the flame down to moderate and leave to cook for 20 minutes.
7) Mix in hot pepper sauce and worcestershire sauce, after which, heat through and serve!

Cajun flavored foods are always a delight to have for me and my wife. This is my altered version of the Simple Cajun Jambalaya Recipe, which comes in with a little less spice. If you like more spice, add more hot pepper sauce, and for more strong flavors, double the amount of chicken broth. I love this dish!
