Ingredients:
- Whole Turkey1
- Celery1 StalksChopped
- Carrot1Peeled
- Onion1Peeled
- Apple1
- Orange1
- Vegetable Oil1/4 Cups
- Salt and PepperTo Taste
- Soul Food Seasoning1 Teaspoons
- Smoked Bacon1 PoundsSlices
- Oven BagTurkey Sized
Preparation mode:
1) Prepare the baking oven and flame it up to the 180 degree Celsius mark.
2) Wash the turkey under like warm water and dry with paper towels.
3) Toss celery, carrot and onion together in a bowl. Fill the cavity of the turkey with the tossed vegetables.
4) Make holes in the orange and in the apple to allow for the juices to flow out and fill the turkey.
5) Coat the outside of the turkey with olive oil and then season with salt, ground black pepper and soul food seasoning.
6) Transfer the prepare turkey to an oven bag and place the bag in a roasting pan. Note: The breast side should be facing up.
7) Top the turkey bag with Bacon strips.
8) Roast for about 4 hours time. Leave to cool down for 10 minutes before serving hot!
